Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

This document outlines the Terms and Conditions that are applicable to the SUNRISE Expert Platform (“the Expert Platform”) and the SUNRISE Cooperation Platform (“the Forum”). Your participation as a member of the Expert Platform includes the use and participation in the activities of SUNRISE Cooperation Platform (“the Forum”). By signing these Terms and Conditions you will become a member of the Platform and will be able to access and/or use the Forum. You agree to comply with the Terms and Conditions that govern them.

 

The SUNRISE project aims at establishing a common safety assurance framework for CCAM and will be running for three years (September 2022 – August 2025) under EU funding. The function of the Platform is facilitating interaction and knowledge sharing among stakeholders. More particularly, the Expert Platform aims to gather CCAM safety assurance experts in one place and collect their opinions and feedback, while the Forum aims at facilitating their discussion by representing the main source of information and updates, well as the main communication tool.

2. Membership to the Expert Platform nature of expected contributions

2.1 The Expert Platform consists of stakeholders who are experts in the field of Safety Assurance and who wish to actively contribute to SUNRISE activities.

2.2 The selection of experts for the Expert Platform will be made by the SUNRISE consortium, based on the list of contacts previously produced internally. Acceptance into the Platform is intended upon the assessment of predetermined and published credentials to be outlined during the registration process. The Call for Expressions of Interest will remain open throughout the duration of the SUNRISE project.

2.2 As a member of the Expert Platform, you understand and acknowledge that you are not bound to any contractual obligations with the European Commission and/or the SUNRISE consortium.

2.3 Your contributions to SUNRISE activities, such as online surveys, interviews, workshops, document reviews, and dissemination materials, are provided on a voluntary basis and no claim can be made for reimbursement or funding from the European Commission nor from the SUNRISE consortium.

2.4 Your contribution as an expert to the SUNRISE activities will aim to support the development of a harmonised solution for testing, validating, and certifying automated road vehicles in Europe and beyond. Your contributions will be based on your knowledge and expertise.

3. Use of Expert Platform Contributions

3.1 The SUNRISE project coordinator may contact you for participation in activities related to the Expert Platform, including surveys, interviews, workshops, and document reviews. These shall be provided in the Forum an/or through other means, like emails or interchanges during online and physical events.

3.2 The SUNRISE project coordinator may utilise your contributions – including expert knowledge – in workshops, reports, dissemination materials, and the SUNRISE online Cooperation Platform (“the Forum”).

3.3 By participating in the Expert Platform, you authorise SUNRISE to use your organisation’s logo on the SUNRISE website (https://ccam-sunrise-project.eu/) and in other promotional materials, such as flyers, newsletters, or posters, alongside SUNRISE consortium members

4. Targeted Stakeholder

4.2 Relevant stakeholders include, but are not limited to, experts from vehicle manufacturers, automotive suppliers, policy makers, national road authorities, member state representatives, and consumer organizations interested in supporting the development of a harmonised solution for testing, validating, and certifying automated road vehicles in Europe.

4.3 The participation of experts from diverse stakeholder groups in the SUNRISE Expert Platform is essential for achieving CCAM industry consensus and for developing solutions that take note of the needs of multiple stakeholders.

4.4 Experts from organisations with competing interests will be asked to cooperate on pre-competitive research and in no occasion this cooperation will serve or will be perceived to serve as a basis for the creation of any cartel or other market dominant power. All discussions and exchange of information between experts within the SUNRISE Expert Platform and the Forum with regards to competitive issues and plans and products of companies concerning the design, production, distribution non-publicised/publicly unannounced aspects will be in conformity with EU Competition law.

4.5 The SUNRISE project encourages collaboration and constructive engagement among Expert Platform members to foster dialogue and support the advancement of the CCAM testing field.

5. Privacy and Data Protection

6.1 The SUNRISE Expert Platform respects your privacy and handles personal data in accordance with the EU GDPR and other applicable data protection laws.

6.2 By participating in the Expert Platform and being active in the Forum, Experts agree to the collection, storage, and processing of their personal data by the SUNRISE Platform for the purposes outlined here: administrative purposes for the organisation of meetings within the Expert Platforms, better allocation of tasks in preparation of reports and content work, organisation of working groups, launching of discussions about specific topics within or outside the Forum.

By signing this terms and Conditions document, you give your agreement to such collection and use.

6.3 Every Expert has the right to discontinue the right granted to the Expert Platform to collect, store and process his/her personal data at any point in the duration of this project.

 

Modification of Terms and Conditions

The SUNRISE Coordinator reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time during the SUNRISE project. Any changes to the terms and Conditions document will be notified to the Expert Platform members through appropriate means, such as email or updates on the Forum.

 

Termination

You may terminate your membership in the Expert Platform at any time by notifying the SUNRISE coordinator in writing. The SUNRISE Coordinator also reserves the right to terminate your membership if you breach these terms and conditions or engage in activities detrimental to the objectives of the Expert Platform.

 

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where SUNRISE operates. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction.
