SUNRISE representatives Stefan de Vries, project coordinator, and Jordi Pont, Applus IDIADA, have recently had a meeting with the South Korean Institute KATRI in which they discussed about potential collaboration between the institute and SUNRISE. The agenda included:

  1. Introduction of research and development status related to safety assessment for ADS in Korea
  2. Introduction of safety assessment framework of SUNRISE project
  3. Discussion on substantive cooperation between R&D projects

Various common interests between their projects and SUNRISE have been identified, and the parties agreed to have a follow-up meeting aiming to expand the collaboration.

This meeting aligns with SUNRISE overall approach towards external stakeholder, as the project aims to connect with many related and relevant initiatives worldwide. Indeed, as the first year of the project comes to an end, SUNRISE managed to establish contacts with international partners, such as Automated Vehicle Safety Consortium (USA), Transport Canada (Canada), KATRI (South Korea), SAKURA project (Japan), V&V Methods project (Germany).

SUNRISE Expert Platform will gather stakeholders and experts of CCAM safety assurance and collect their opinions through the project’s Cooperation Platform.
